Quinta Essentia uses several instruments of the recorder family in its presentations. The instruments are selected according to their sounds in order to obtain better results in each new work. The recorder is one of the instruments widely used in the early music movement or Historical Inspired Performance. Playing copies of historical instruments is part of the Quinta Essentia work, along with the search for new timbres, effects and techniques and the research of new music composed for recorder quartet.
