Combining Voices: This repertoire was developed to spread the recorder chamber music possibilities. Aiming to show important composers of the instrument's history, it presents the main works of each repertoire developed by Quinta Essentia.

   

Flauti di Camera: Baroque languague and chamber music are key elements in the interpretation of the works comprised in this program. The Quinta Essentia shows the quartet formation of the major works of literature as a recorder consorts and concerts. The differences in style, the theory of affects and the articulation are some characteristics of the Baroque music that builds up the interpretation of this group.

   

Identity: Improving the contemporary repertoire for the recorder, Quinta Essentia presents in this repertoire only original music especially created by Brazilian composers for Quinta Essentia. This work is a partnership with the composers that wish to learn more about the techniques, possibilities and language of the recorder and to compose music using all the resources the recorder has.

   

With the purpose of spreading the recorder, its family and possibilities, Quinta Essentia created this repertoire in a didactic format, in order to perform it in schools, universities, cultural centers and companies. In this show, the audience interacts with the music and learns about the instruments, the historical periods and techniques, leadership and group work (the last ones in companies presentation). The primary objective of this work is to make the audience to learn about music and its language, in a repertoire that shows all the historical practices from the renaissance to contemporary popular music.

   

Whirlwhistle: Since 1960 the recorder is an instrument that grabs the attention of composers because of its simplicity and vastness of possibilities. This repertoire presents only original music for the recorder, with contemporary techniques to explore each timbre and sound possibilities of this instrument; an intense work of technique and musical study by Quinta Essentia.

   

Recorder players in Brazil always opened space to Brazilian music, whether popular or classical. This identity is easily noticed by the Brazilian audience, composers and arrangers. In this case, a music of marking rhythm, with instruments that provide a ‘speech’. Quinta Essentia presents the Brazilian accent, which is fulfilled with different rhythms inherited from African music and with a beautiful melody inherited from American and European music. These elements change in classical and popular music, and it is crystal clear in this repertoire.
